Skill Development and Entrepreneurship was assigned to another minister in the reshuffle of 9 November 2014. He held Youth Affairs and Sports until he became Chief Minister of Assam in May 2016.

What these offices carry
Minister of State (Independent Charge)
A Minister of State with independent charge heads a ministry or department without a Cabinet Minister above them in that ministry, and is responsible for it directly. Such ministers are members of the Union Council of Ministers but not of the Cabinet.
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
The ministry oversees youth development programmes and sports administration in India, including the Sports Authority of India.
Ministry of AYUSH
AYUSH is the ministry responsible for traditional systems of medicine: Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy. He held its charge alongside Ports, Shipping and Waterways from July 2021 to June 2024.
Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways
